I want to make something happen. I always try to be fair in my dealing. I understand FN is no longer going to import the Hi Power; take that for what it’s worth in the effect on values.
Well I think I lost it. I offered to buy a colt 1911 part sight unseen the other day. The price seemed right so what the hell. Well the gentleman showed up with it and I bought it. I have to say I’m not a fan of nickle plating but it’s growing on me.
I can’t figure out the barrel set up. The barrel sticks out the front a half inch? It looks like a bull barrel with no p85 ruger. The guide rod is a full length one in blued.

I just picked up a Ruger P95 for $200. It came with the neutered 10 rd mags but was in the box and looks like it’s had less than a box of shells fired through it.
I’ve never owned a P95 before but have had two ruger single six (which I liked but traded off). I still have some of the P89 15 rd mags and they fit well in the P95.
It’s been a while since I’ve dealt with Ruger semiautos and it may be a week or so before I shoot it.
Is the P95 as good, better, or worse than the P89s?

Subsonic rounds have a Ruger 10/22 stock of 330 m/s (1082 ft/s) or less and are sometimes equipped with an extra heavy,46-61grains 2.9-3.9 gram bullet. Conversely, some rounds contain little more than primer and an extra-light bullet. Subsonic rounds are especially favored for their perceived improved target accuracy, and for hunting. As the speed of sound in air at 20 C (68 F) is approximately 343.4 m/s (1126 ft/s), the subsonic round’s muzzle velocity is close to the speed of sound under many hunting conditions, or only very slightly below it. However, under cold air conditions at 0 C (32 F), the speed of sound drops to 331.5 m/s (1087.6 ft/s), essentially the same speed as the muzzle velocity of the subsonic round. Hence, a so-called subsonic round when used under slightly colder conditions than 0 C (32 F) is often no longer subsonic and instability may arise when crossing down through the speed of sound, reducing accuracy. To counteract this, some cartridge manufacturers have lowered the speed of their subsonic ammunition to 315 m/s (1030 ft/s) or significantly less, while other manufacturers still sell subsonic ammunition with a velocity only slightly under 330 m/s(1082 ft/s). Subsonic rounds do not work well in all semi-automatic .22 LR firearms, often failing to cycle the action.

Firing controls on the Type 21 Rifle will be familiar to anyone acquainted with the standard AR-15 type rifle. A shell deflector keeps hot brass away from the shooter’s face. The magazine release button, Carbon Fiber charging handle and takedown and pivot pins are all in standard AR-15 positions. For additional safety, the Safety Selector Lever markings are color-coded on both sides of the Lower Receiver to quickly determine the firing status of the rifle.

A bayonet lug is for the most part never going to be used. However, since the flash-hider is required, the existence of the bayonet lug does not require Gun Clip additional effort and should be included. It is better to have and not need than to need it and not have it… keep in mind that a bayonet will not fit correctly on a 16″ barrel; it will fit a 14.5″ barrel.

I traded it for a Ruger security six and took a loss on a $745 pistol (IIRC he gave me $500 and he’s a good friend of p89 ruger). I figured I could live with the MIM small parts as long as the frame and slide were forged (easier to replace those).
YMMV, but after that I never owned another Para Ordnance and to this day I refuse to purchase any cast frame firearm (including Para Ordnance , Caspian, etc.)

Firing controls on the Type 97 Pistol are in the familiar AR-15 layout, and for additional safety, the Safety Selector Lever markings are color-coded on both sides of the Lower Receiver to quickly determine the firing status of the pistol. The Charging Handle is molded of Carbon Fiber, and captivated takedown pins allow Upper and Lower Receiver separation for easy cleaning and lubrication. The Type 97 Pistol includes iron sights - the rear is a ghost ring type, and the front sight is a heavy blade integral to the gas block. The gas tube is enclosed for strength and the enclosure is vented to aid in cooling. An ergonomically designed Hogue Over Molded pistol grip is fitted for comfort. Though no forend is included, the shooter can simply wrap the weak hand around magazine and well for two handed shooting.
